The Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly has distributed a total of 400 mono desks to schools in the municipality.
At a brief ceremony held at the premises of the Assembly for the handing over of the desks to the municipal office of the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs. Susan Akomeah charged the beneficiary schools to take good care of the furniture so as to prolong the life span of the desks.
She said the Assembly constructed mono desks in order to promote covid-19 protocol in the area of seating arrangements.
In all, a total of eight Primary and Basic schools benefitted from the mono desks. These schools include; Kyekeyewere Basic, Bimma Basic, Kyekyebiase Basic, Anawookrom primary, Nsiakrom primary, Bieposo primary and Denyame primary schools.
Receiving the furniture on behalf of the schools, the Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Martha Sarpong thanked the Assembly for the support. She expressed the determination of the schools to make good use of the furniture.
